Several financial assistance programs are available through the Nutrient Management Act (Act 38) for the development of a nutrient management plan and associated nutrient balance sheets and implementation of best management practices in an approved Act 38 nutrient management plan. These programs provide funding in the form of grants or low interest loans to offset the cost of nutrient management plan or nutrient balance sheet development and/or implementation of an approved nutrient management plan. An agricultural operation must have existed prior to October 1, 2006 to qualify for funding.
Special Note: Application periods for financial assistance programs under the Nutrient Management Act are closed as of January 1, 2011 or until funding becomes available. |
